Day 2

Day 2

Fantastic day for many reasons. Terrain is easy, one big (little) climb. We hit a town, Zubiri, with a pension right off the trail. After being in dirt, mud, rain and the sleet and freezing temps that hit us today, this pension is warm and dry. With laundry. And a really nice caretaker.

We are sharing a room with steve, which tickles me. We only met him on the road yesterday morning, barely 24 hours ago, and now the three of us are sharing a small room.

Food is easy to find. Since so many people hike this path, at a road crossing today there was a food truck. Yummy snacks. Today’s lunch was purchased at today’s breakfast, a bar of sorts, selling coffee and simple sandwiches. I had bread, cheese and chorizo. Simply my favorite.
