About

April of 2011, as the Appalachian Trail class of 2011 was just heading at the start of their journey, I decided to hike the Appalachian Trail. That was the easiest decision I’ve made! I read about the AT while in college, I remember leaving my dorm (Dexter), and making a vow to hike it before I turned 25. You know, old. I am 33 today, and have decided to share my adventure with my friends. For one, I hope those closest to me understand why I have to leave, and because life is too fun not to share. Only 10% of people who start this hike, complete it end-to-end.  Help me complete it.

Keep an eye on this site to know where to send mail, when I’m on or off the trail, and just general information.  Email me encouragement, and any friendly words. I hope to keep this updated with lots of photos too.

  5. Great meeting you at Silers Bald Shelter last night! I was 32 when I did my thruhike. Not only are you a minority out there, since you are female, but you’re not the “normal” hikers age either. You’re in the middle. But, anytime is a great time to thruhike! 🙂

Have a great time out there!

Looking forward to following your blog!
